Bare new-build yards in east Wylie

Wylie has grown fast, and plenty of homes here were handed over with a sodded lawn, two shrubs by the door and nothing else. Starting from bare ground is a chance to get the structure right rather than adding pieces year by year.

Clay soil that moves with the season

Wylie sits on the same dark Blackland clay that runs through this part of Collin County. It holds water after a storm and cracks open in August, and that movement is hard on anything set into the ground.

For planting, we prepare beds so roots are not sitting in a clay bowl that holds water. For fencing, we set posts to a depth that accounts for the soil shifting, because a fence built without allowing for that starts leaning by its second summer.

Regular mowing through a long season

Grass in Wylie is growing from spring through into autumn, and Bermuda and St. Augustine lawns here can outrun a casual schedule quickly in early summer.
